I purchased this model kit because it is the only reasonably priced way of getting a 35th Chieftain these days. There are more expensive specialist resin cast one's, but the old Tamiya was a great way of doing it. Despite it being made in the early/mid 1970's it still hold up very well. I also purchased from a non e bay source the Eduard Etched detail set to go with it (though these sometimes come up on ebay) and that brought it bang up to date in my humble opinion. I have to admit that going 70's Tamiya has a lot to do with nostalgia. But by adding modern photo etched parts you are up to date modelling. Anyway, who says you have to go for the modern treatment. There's a lot of blokes out there that never got around to making that special kit from their teens/childhood, early adult years. And this is a great way of doing it and bringing things bang up to date in the new golden age of AFV modelling.
