The Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 is cheap and revolutionary IT for back pain, better posture and alleviating daily stress. Basically, it’s a great choice for relaxing after a hard day at the office or in the field, soothing those aching neck and back muscles, calming down the pent up shoulder muscles and letting your legs hang from the ankle while the brain feels a rush of free blood supply. Through this process, this inversion table releases a lot of pressure from the spine and nerve roots. This directly leads to decreased muscle and nerve complications. So the Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 is a great workout for folks with persistent spine or nerve issues. Even athletes will find it a great physiotherapy tool. Just inverting 25 degrees for a few minutes on this table can do wonders for the body. Fitted with Flex Technology back rest, adjustable foot platforms, EZ Angle tether straps and an ergonomic design, this inversion table provides comfort, adjustability and loads of versatility. It offers 20, 40 and 60 degree inclination angles with the ability to choose custom angles too. The maximum user weight is restricted to 300 pounds and it comes with a pillow, instructional DVD and a long 5 year warranty.
The EP-550 is one of Teeter’s better performing inversion tables. You’re able to invert to a maximum of 60-degrees, and can even select between 20, 40 and 60 as you get into the groove of things.
Having tested both the 960 and 950 model previously, we wanted to find out what was missing in the Teeter Hang Ups EP-550. Now, construction wise, things would be slightly lower grade in comparison to the 900-based models, but that is fine as long as it operates similar to its higher siblings. After using it for around 4 weeks we actually are impressed with the EP-550. It is so similar in operation and comfort to the EP-950 with the latter only having a better overall body construction and a few extra features. Well, the EP-550 is not exactly feeble in construction but the quality is lower than in its other models. Plus the weight seems to be slightly more which is possibly because of the use of steel in the tubular frames. What we really appreciated was the presence of the Flex Technology that powers the EP-950 and its ground breaking physio-therapeutic capacity. After just 4 weeks we already feel this technology working wonders for our backs. We believe that folks with sciatica and back pain will benefit tremendously from this inversion table.
Assembly wasn’t hard at all with the Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 as it was all finished in just 30 minutes from scratch. Instructions are easy to follow and the A-frame makes it easier to assemble. However, the entire weight of this unit becomes evident the moment you assemble it so having a couple of extra hands will help in getting it set up at its eventual resting place in the house. We chose a particular corner of the house with lots of free space. Folding it is not an option as its hard to get it back straight.
Initially, the table felt a bit uncomfortable but with time this became better. It took about a week of aching neck muscles and back before they got used to the unique back rest and bed of the Teeter Hang Ups EP-550. Once we got comfortable with the table, we could feel the back relaxing, shoulders distressing and the entire body easing up. After a couple of weeks our back pains hard practically disappeared. Moreover, because of its ankle straps and adjustable design, we could configure each component depending on our height and weight so that we never once felt like toppling over. We have inverted to a full 90 degree by gradually increasing through 20, 40 and 60 degrees and never once felt in danger. For beginners at inversion tables, the Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 lets users lock inversion angles at gradual increments so that the body can get used to this unusual orientation.
