Threes

Threes
Price: £1.20
A huge hit on the iPhone, Threes is an addictive and brilliant puzzle game. The idea is to move the tiled numbers around by pushing up, down, left or right. When you press a ’one’ into a ’two’ it becomes a three. After that, you need to combine like-numbered tiles to make the highest number you can. With new tiles appearing every time you make a move, the board slowly fills up and when you can make no more moves, it’s game over. It’s ridiculously simple to learn, super-hard to master and completely addictive. It’s one game all Android users should have.

Badland
Price: Free (in-app purchases)
Badland is a beautiful-looking and intelligent action game. Set is a bizarre world, your job is to protect the strange bird-like creatures from harm. Your only controls are a screen-tap, which sends the creatures into the air, flapping their tiny wings.
It sounds easy, but the further you go, the more bird-creatures you get, until you end up with an entire flock. With the danger increasing to match, things get harder quickly.

Super Bit Dash
Price: Free (in-app purchase)
A crazy retro actioner, Super Bit Dash brings up memories of classic Nintendo games. It’s a constant-scrolling action game, where you need to tap the screen to jump in order to avoid obstacles and collect bonuses.
To mix things up, you can swipe forwards on the screen to make a fast dash, or swipe back to slow down. The combination of the two has to be used to avoid the most danger. Most importantly, it’s superb fun and incredibly easy to pick up.

Radiant Defense
Price: Free (in-app purchases)
There are plenty of tower defence games available for Android, but Radiant Defense is one of the best. As with other games of this type, you need to place weapons at key points on the map to stop the enemy making it from one side to another. An inventive arsenal, plenty of upgrades and frenetic action make this  easy to learn, but hard to master and you’ll need to think carefully to find the optimal points for each type of weapon.
