Kidrobot first began producing their now iconic vinyl Dunny figures in 2004.  Dunny are rabbit shaped designer toys that typically come in three different sizes 3", 8" or 20" although various artist customs are different non-standard sizes. Numerous famous artists and designers have designed Dunny which means there are hundreds of unique designs to collect.

Which Series Should I Collect?

Since their inception there has been numerous series of Dunny. Each year there is an annual release of a new series which typically features Dunny from approximately 20 different artists. Alongside these series there are also smaller releases typically called hyper-series, which launch throughout the year and which are based on things such as an individual theme or artist.
Most collectors just start by simply buying Dunny they find interesting before branching out. People often try to complete whole series or collecting all of the Dunny by a certain artist.

Things to Look Out For

Dunny mostly come "blind boxed" this means that they are sold in sealed boxes and until you open them you do not know which Dunny you have. On Ebay most Dunny have already been opened so the figures are already identified. Within a series each individual Dunny will have a ratio with some being rarer than others and with some being chase figures which tend to be the rarest. These figures are the most expensive as they are harder to find and there are less of each figure made. It is always worth checking the ratio on the Dunny to give you a better idea of what sort of price you should be paying for your figure.
There are also limited edition one off figures produced in both 3" and 8", these are singular figures produced by an artist that are often quite sought after. These figures come in specially designed boxes specific to the figure.

Packaging and Accessories

Each 3" Dunny is packaged in a cardboard box, typically with a foil bag that contained the Dunny. Depending on the series the Dunny will also come with either an artist sticker or card. Some Dunny also come with accessories that vary from ray-guns to ping-pong bats to jet packs. The value of the Dunny is affected by whether they come with the box and relevant accessories. You should always check when buying whether the Dunny you are buying comes with it's accessories and packaging as this can affect it's overall price.
