2. Replace the handrail

The handrail is a very distinctive part of the staircase, not only does it offer support as you climb the stairs, but, as it is one of the most viewed parts of the stairs, many choose to make a feature of the rail itself. Perhaps you have a boring white staircase which needs an uplift? Why not add one of our contemporary oak handrails to make a feature of the rail itself. The contrast between the white and natural timber is a beautiful design and very popular at the moment. We also offer chrome and brushed nickel handrail connectors for our traditional and solution style handrail making installation quicker and easier than ever!

We offer a range of contemporary square and turned and modern style full newel posts which can be used to replace the old and out-dated. Our match-existing special services mean we can match any design newel post to keep a continued design between an old and new staircase. Some newel posts are structural to the stairs itself and we therefore, offer spigot newel posts. These are supplied with 50mm diameter pegs on the bottom; so you simply cut down your existing newels, drill a 50mm diameter hole (see video) and slot the new post in. We also have a range of contemporary chrome and brushed nickel newel base connectors which can be used to hide the join between the old and new post!
