1. Baby Bouncer Chair

These are invaluable! The seat on a bouncer is slightly angled, so your babies can see what's going on around them. When they're little, that's often enough to keep them stimulated. I found it really useful, as I could keep my son near me and they felt secure, but I could get on with other things like having a shower!

2. Nipple Cream

If you are breastfeeding, I cannot stress enough the importance of a fab nipple cream.
I used this one from Lansinoh. It was a little more expensive than others available but you only need a tiny amount and it is amazing. Also great for chapped lips!

3. Cushi Tush

Once your baby can hold their head up unsupported, its time to get them a secure seat they can sit and play and eat in.

I wasn't struck on the bumbo seats as, to me, they didn't offer enough support. So,  I got this Cushi Tush. It is made of polystyrene so super light, is study, the tray lifts out so is easy to place your baby in. It can be washed in the dishwasher if needs be, but I found just a wipe down was all that was required. The base is a lot wider than the bumbo and it never so much as wobbled, let alone toppled over with my baby.

4. Lullaby light projector

The gentle lullaby will easily help your baby drift off to sleep, whilst the moving images keep them entertained. A must have for a hassle-free bed time!

5. Teething toys!

Once those lovely pearly whites try to make an appearance you will be glad of anything that is safe for your little one to gnaw on!

I loved this Sophie Giraffe and it soon became one of my sons favourite toys!

Equally good, are the water filled teethers that can be placed in the fridge so will provide a 'cooling' sensation on your baby's gums.
