Goggle Technology

If you’re looking for something a bit more interactive than just a head cam whilst on the slopes, many companies are now integrating augmented reality into their goggles. Integrated GPS and Bluetooth means the head-up display lets you view incoming texts and calls, post and view social media and control your music without having to look at your phone. You can track your location and performance including speed, altitude and vertical decent data. Loads to impress your friends with as you enjoy the après ski.

Bluetooth Gloves

Instead of fumbling with your smartphone through bulky gloves, let the gloves control the device through Bluetooth technology. Once installed you can control music, calls and other simple functions by touching your fingers together in certain ways without having to go near your phone. Perfect when it’s minus ten outside. They’re also great for motorcycling.

Action Cameras

If you haven’t got one already then an action camera such as the market leading GoPro range is a must for capturing your downhill antics. Not only can you mount it on your helmet, you can also stick on your snowboard to capture a different angle, or even aim it at yourself while you’re carving up some powder. Most action cameras are easily controlled form your smartphone and many ship with fully weatherproof cases. Videos and stills are captured in high quality you can review then straight away via your phone. Transferring footage to your computer for editing is easy – you can either remove the memory card, or transfer wirelessly if your camera supports it. Why rely on memories, when you can relive all those downhill moments over and over.

Smartphone Waterproof case

The last thing you want is a snow covered phone so make sure you protect yours with a decent waterproof case. There are loads of options on the market. We like the LifeProof range. If you've got an iPhone they’re a great option and LifeProof has adjusted the design to ensure you can still use the fingerprint recognition technology.

Heated gloves

Instead of layering up or trying to stuff heated packs into your gloves to keep your fingers warm why not go for a battery powered set of mitts? Battery cell technology is used to heat up the gloves and some models come with a thermostat control to allow you to adjust just how toasty your paws are. You get what you pay for so look for a good rechargeable lithium battery.
