What should I look for

If you're looking for toys to occupy and entertain a baby the choices can be quite overwhelming. I was asked by Bzzagent to write a guide so thought this might be a useful topic.

Babies can be difficult to  but for as the sheer volume of toys can be overfacing. These are toys I've found useful with my kids.

Stacking toys:
These are good as they can entertain in a variety of ways. Stacking cups can be chewed, used to build towers or used for water play in warmer weather.

Ball pool balls:
These are much fun as they can be chewed and thrown, if you fill a small inflatable pool with them your baby  can spend time sat up in them. When your baby grows bigger many hours of fun can be had simply tipping them all over the floor and kicking them about.

My baby loves her door bouncer. Jumparoos also get excellent reviews. They are good for expending energy and developing leg strength.

Shape sorting:
We have an ELC bus, this is great as the shapes all rattle or jingle, a much loved toy by both my kids this is highly recommended.
Activity tables
These are great as babies get different enjoyment out of them as they grow up. We have a winnie the pooh one which both my baby and my 3 year old enjoy. It hasthings to spin, flick, songs and flasing lights as well as word, number and character recognition.
