Weed control fabrics are advertised under many guises; weed block, weed control membrane, landscape fabric, weed cloth, weed barrier fabric, weed suppressant fabric, etc.

QVS weed control fabrics are manufactured from environmentally friendly raw materials. The weed control fabric emits no chemicals that can harm plants, pets or the surrounding area. They are permeable fabrics, which allow air, water and nutrients to pass through, and designed to block out the sun to reduce photosynthesis and stop weed growth.

From our eBay Shop we supply two variants of weed control fabrics; a 100gsm and 125gsm heavy duty woven fabric, and a lighter 50gsm non-woven fabric, both in a choice of widths and lengths. The non-woven is cheaper, but the woven weed control fabric is much stronger and puncture resistant.

50gsm weed control fabric is a lightweight non-woven porous material used to suppress garden weeds by blocking sunlight and creating a barrier weed. Ideal for landscaping, borders, beds, maintaining tubs, hanging baskets, pot liners, etc. This fabric must be covered with mulch, gravel, bark, etc.

Available sizes: 1m x 50m, 1m x 100m, 1.5m x 50m and 1.5m x 100m, 2m x 25m, 2m x 50m, 3m x 50m, 3m x 100m.

100gsm weed control is a heavy duty woven polypropylene tape yarn designed to allow maximum water dispersion via specially profiled threads and also gives the strongest puncture resistance. This fabric is so tough and efficient that it is not imperative to cover the fabric with mulch, gravel, bark, etc. It is used in areas where a stronger heavier duty fabric is required, such as under lawns, driveways, paths, patios, play areas, allotments, etc. It can also be used inside greenhouses and polytunnels, as well.

The most effective way to secure weed fabric in place is by using plastic anchor pegs. We provide an extra strong, 15cm long with four parallel barbed edges for extra grip made out of heavy duty recycled plastic. Insert the pegs through the fabric and into the ground approximately ever metre at where fabric joins and along all perimeter edges. Where the ground is very hard or stoney we suggest the use of metal pegs to secure the membrane.
