If you have trouble "feeling" your back on pulldowns, pull ups and rows, or your biceps or grip fatigue before you back, then you need straps. Traditional straps are fiddly but Versa Gripps are very easy to use. I rate these highly. I have owned mine for about 3 years with over 200kg and they are still in good condition.
