AS AN EXPERIENCED SELLER I AM ALWAYS TRYING TO ENSURE THAT MY COMMUNICATION IS UPFRONT AND HONEST.
THIS CAN BE ANYTHING FROM THE CONTENT OF THE LISTING (FOR EXAMPLE: I WILL MAKE A VIDEO TO SHOW AN ITEM WORKING), TO RESPONDING QUICKLY AND HONESTLY TO QUESTIONS ABOUT ITEMS AND REQUESTS FOR SHIPPING UPDATES.
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THIS GUIDE I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT I ONLY SUPPLY TRACKING FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS IF THE ITEM IS OVER A CERTAIN VALUE OR THE BUYER REQUESTS IT. THE COST OF A SMALL ITEM TRACKED WOULD BE $16 WHICH IS NOT FAIR TO ADD THIS TO A £6 ITEM.
HOWEVER...
NO MATTER HOW MUCH I TRY THERE ARE EBAY MEMBERS OUT THERE WHO SIMPLY WANT TO START A FIGHT OVER THE SMALLEST OF ISSUES.
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT EBAY MEMBER tim274. A BUYER AND SELLER OF SCI-FI FROM THE USA (ITS WORTH NOTING THAT HE DOESNT SHIP OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES). HE BOUGHT A SARAH JANE SMITH (DOCTOR WHO) FIGURE FOR £6 WHICH I SHIPPED ON 28TH FEBRUARY 2014 AND OBTAINED PROOF OF POSTAGE.
HE CONTACTED ME ON 12TH MARCH WITH THIS MESSAGE:
hello your auction states you provide tracking.you marked shipped several. week. ago but you haven't entered tracking yet and i have not recieved.thank you tim274
I RESPONDED WITH THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE. I HAD SOME DELAYS THROUGH FEBRUARY DUE TO THE TERRIBLE WEATHER IN BOTH THE UK AND USA. HOWEVER ALL THE ITEMS DID TURN UP.
hello, thanks for your question. For some reason there are delays for items being delivered in the US at the moment. I have had 2 queries recently from buyers in the New York area about items which have taken longer than usual. I provide proof of postage from all the items and tracking if the buyer has paid for that service. Your item was sent by royal mail small packages which is no a tracked service, however I will send you the proof of postage certificate when I get back into the office later.

WHEN I READ THIS I WAS CONCERNED. I THOUGHT IT SEEMED SOMEWHAT  PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE AND I CHECKED THE FEEDBACK HE HAD LEFT FOR OTHERS. IT TURNED OUT ON THAT DAY  HE HAD LEFT THE FEEDBACK:

I ALWAYS GET WORRIED ABOUT THIS. SOMETIMES BUYERS WILL GET AN ITEM THEY ARE UNHAPPY WITH AND TURN THEIR ATTENTION TO ANOTHER PURCHASE WHILE THEY ARE PISSED. THIS NORMALLY HAPPENS WHEN NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IS LEFT FOR A SELLER AND THEY HAVE BOUGHT FROM ELSEWHERE. I FELT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PLACATE THE BUYER:

hello Tim, firstly let me apologise for the delay in you receiving your Sarah Jane figure. I can see by your recent feedback that you have had some issues with another seller, I can assure you that I am an experienced seller and I ship worldwide daily, so I will stay with you until this is resolved.
I have attached the official stamped and signed proof of postage from the UK post office.
I would like to clear up your question about tracking. On the listing it states"WE OBTAIN PROOF OF POSTAGE OR TRACKING INFORMATION FOR ALL OUR ITEMS." This item was sent by royal mail small packets which comes with proof of posting but not tracking. As this is an excellent service through royal mail / USPS and all my packages have arrived safely, I do not feel it is credible to ask a buyer to pay double the cost for this service (unless the value of the item warrants it.)

Please be patient. It has only been about 10 working days in transit.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD MESSAGE. I WAS APOLOGETIC. IT CLEARED UP THE QUESTION OF THE SHIPPING AND IT REASSURED THE BUYER. BUT THIS GUY WAS HAVING NONE OF IT.
its just odd i ordered few items from europe took 7 days.with tracking. i paid us $12 to ship sara jane so I'm not sure why no tracking. you happen to bring up an issue i had with another seller? not sure why you are bringing this up except to tick me off? i will now file an unrecieved item report. you can message me through the resolution system.
WHEN I RETURNED TO BE IN THE MORNING MY FEEDBACK PERCENTAGE HAD REDUCED TO 99.8% WITH THIS FEEDBACK:

WAS THIS REALLY APPROPRIATE?? I DON'T FEEL IT WAS! THEN WHEN HE WAS ABLE TO, HE OPENED A CASE WITH THE RESOLUTION CENTRE. (I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT HE SPELT RECEIVED WRONG...TWICE!)
SO WHAT CAN BE DONE FOR BUYERS LIKE THIS? NOT MUCH REALLY! HE WILL RECEIVE THIS ITEM AND GET HIS MONEY BACK AND I WILL HAVE THIS FEEDBACK ON MY STORE FOR THE NEXT 12 MONTHS. ALL I CAN DO IS CONTINUE TO TRY AND KEEP MY COMMUNICATION HONEST AND UPFRONT AND HOPE THAT BUYERS APPRECIATE THAT INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES TAKE LONGER THAN DOMESTIC SHIPPING.
I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT ONE OF HIS BUYERS WILL TAKE EXCEPTION TO HIS AGGRESSIVE AND PUERILE ATTITUDE AND LEAVE HIM THE FEEDBACK HE REALLY DESERVES AND GET BUYERS LIKE THIS OFF EBAY!
