Do your research before bidding. Many of the machines on E bay, new or "graded" are selling at best only a few pounds under the price in Currys etc when you take into account the transport charges. Often you will be faced with real difficulties in case of a fault because of distances involved whereas a nationally known store even if you buy on the net will have local access to repair facilities.
Remember the manufacturers warrenty is in addition to your legal rights and your first recouse is always to the retailer. He has a legal duty to supply you with goods which are fit for their purpose and last a reasonable length of time. The courts have decided that around 7 years would be reasonable for large common white goods like a washer,so you can see the 2 yr warrenty is rather a waste of time.
Don't be fobbed off with "its a matter for the makers, not us" No it isn't, the retailer is responsible in law. See Sale of Goods Act or contact your local Trading Standards, they are usually eager to nail the villans, locally or nationally
