Skinny Jeans are slimming and very trendy. As the name suggests they are made to make you look thin, maybe even thinner than you really are. However skinny jeans are not suitable for everyone and those with a fuller figure should avoid. Generally the wearer should be pretty slim to start with.

Cigarette Jeans (also similar to Straight Leg) are more forgiving on your curves compared to skinny leg jeans. In skinny jeans the trouser leg tapers off in the bottom. In cigarette jeans the trouser leg does not taper off at the bottom but continues straight down to the bottom. A benefit to wearing cigarette jeans is that you don't have to be really skinny.

Wide Leg Jeans and Flare Jeans are great for the chic 70s look. Match it with a fitted top for instant sleekness. Wide leg jeans flatter most shapes and look great with flats or heels.

Boyfriend Jeans are ultra forgiving on women with a curvy bottom. Worn rolled up at the ankles, loose on the legs. Boyfriend fit jeans are for many a welcome liberation ... comfy, flattering and endearingly scruffy. Perhaps the most influential style icon for boyfriend jeans is Katie Holmes. Boyfriend jeans are a denim must have and as popular as the boot-cut, flare or skinny. Team your boyfriend jeans with a pair of chunky wedges or heels and a fitted t-shirt.

Ripped Jeans give your outfit a cool edge and are perfect with classy pieces for that highly trendy fashionista look.

High Waisted Jeans are a definate style choice and can be extremely flattering and interesting. High waisted jeans are more of a formal look and should be paired with heels or flats depending on your height or size. You should also tuck your top into high-waisted jeans and due to the snug nature of the jean should pair them with a top that doesn't have too much fabric to tuck in. You can pair them with a blouse if the blouse is not too long and won't bunch up the jeans. Accessorise with a thin fitted belt to draw attention to a small waist and complete the outfit.

White Jeans are super fresh and an effective way to inject some spring / summer to your wardobe. White jeans can look fabulous. They can create a sense of style above and beyond anything that blue or black jeans can muster. They are also incredibly versatile and can be worn with practically anything. They a blank canvas that make just about any top or pair of shoes look great. It is worth buying a decent pair. Spend as much as you can on a pair of white jeans as the cheaper high street store jeans can unfortunately look terribly unforgiving!

Cropped Jeans are perfect all year round whether you are wearing sandals in summer or tucking your jeans into boots in winter.

Grey Jeans are another alternative to Black Skinny Jeans. Perfect for sporty, trendy and urban fashionistas.

Denim Leggings or Jeggings are typically made of a denim / spandex mix and resemble tight fitted trousers. Often worn on their own or under a skirt or dress. Some jeggings have faux zip flies and pockets whilst others have an elasticated waistband and no pockets. The celebrity responsible for transporting jeggings into the fashion world was Fearne Cotton.

High End Denim brands spotted on many A-List Celebrities such as Kate Hudson and Kate Moss include 7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and J Brand.
