Why UK Sellers Don't Take International cheques/Money O

Many international buyers want to pay for their ebay items using international cheques/money orders. Some get upset when I point out that I can't accept this method of payment, especially as I do take UK cheques and postal orders. The reason I can't accept anything other than paypal from international buyers is the fact that it UK banks charge about £8 to process international cheques and postal orders and as I sell low value items, this would mean that I made a huge loss! UK buyers are not just being mean!

However, as paypal fees are about 5%, the more expensive the item is, the more likely a seller is to accept International cheques, but we are talking about items costing well over £100 and to be honest,  it would be worth setting up a paypal account for this as it is far safer for the buyer.
