Wooden Wine Box Ends
These are original parts of boxes that wine is shipped & stored in. Alot of wine was packaged this way until cardboard boxes were introduced as a cheaper alternative.
Each box end has an engraved or embossed name of the wine it carried on it. Alot of them have the year and a picture on. Normally this is done in black but there are some rare ones that are in colour. These are ideal to hang as picture.
I have heard of many different ways people have used wine box ends
Wine seller decoration.
Around the home as plaques on walls
Place mats for dinner tables
My wife even suggested i build our dogs a kennel from them. ( I did'ent)
Some of these box ends can be quite old. The oldest i have come across is from 1973 but there are older ones. As you can imagine after being shipped & stored around the world they end up with some general wear to them. I think this adds to the character and look of them.
They measure aprox 31cm by 17cm
A must for any wine enthusiast
