What is it?

Yuzet® woven weed control fabric is primarily known as ground cover. Similar names such as geotextile or landscape membrane are also popular consumer words for the product.
The fabric allows nutrients to pass through the soil and the earth underneath which encourages a healthy growing soil. The product works due to it’s ability to block out harmful UV rays from natural daylight, without which weeds cannot grow.
Recommended uses include, below lawns, under gravel driveways, under decking and patio’s, it’s also widely used in the horticultural industry, garden borders and allotments.

  • Measure the width of the area and length of the area you wish to cover.

Installation

  • Turn over the area to be covered and make sure any sharp weeds / stalks are removed
  • Lay your chosen fabric on top of the prepared soil, if you need to overlap make sure you leave around 25cm.
  • Use Yuzet® fixing pegs (150mm) to hold down the fabric, particularly in windy conditions.
  • Once down you can leave uncovered but for extra assurance we always recommend covering with a bark, mulch turf or chippings.
  • If there are existing trees, shrubs or plants simply cut an “X” in the fabric and place over the top, there’s no need to transplant your favourite tree, bush or shrub!
