Be aware you poor buyers thinking you can trust Paypal to cover you.
They changed the rules a while ago so you are covered (supposedly) for items that are too large to post. Great news - WRONG!
We bought a dishwasher form someone a few miles away - nearly new, six months guarantee etc. Guess what, broken and no guarantee. We filed a case, won our case, returned the item, hey presto the guy threatens to hit me, gets abusive in front of my partner and 5 year old, there is no way I can take the dishwasher away - and he refuses to sign to say he got it back - so he wins twice, he gets the money, all £200 and the goods. I took photos, and even a video of him threatening me and sticking a finger up.
Paypal's response ...We'll ask him if he got the machine back, if he says yes than you can have your money. Photos are not evidence.
WAKE UP PAYPAL - IF YOU ARE DEALING WITH A FRAUDSTER YOU NEED TO ACT NOT WHIMPER!
Ok I could have used a tracking delivery system, TNT wanted £165.00 to move this machine 10 miles! This is my cost, so all I would have gotten back is £45. This is not buyer protection. If you have been ripped off an a large item then the fraudster needs to pay the return cost otherwise they have won.
Paypal are so busy telling us how safe and secure they are, that they don't bother to tell us that they are as full of loopholes. The woman on the phone even said " well there is always small print in any contract you know"
One more buyer walking away form Ebay and Paypal
I think there is probably a class action we could bring against Paypal for misrepresentation and even unfair contract, but as they know full well, who is going to take this on, so I use my other consumer right - tell the story all over the internet let people know there are 100 ways Paypal will con you.
