So i decided to put my nokia x6 up for auction on ebay for 1 day , 2 mins before the auction ended a new bidder came in and won. After this i looked on her feedback and she had only made the account the day before which got me thinking but everyone can bid no matter how long they been with ebay dont mean they a scammer right? Well after this i receive an email from her stating that she was away on a buisness trip and wanted the phone sending to nigeria for her son as a birthday present she then went on to say that she had sent the money to paypal and added an extra £30 to cover the postage costs she then described in great lengths how to wrap the phone, what to write on the package and only to use royal mail international delivery and to make sure i posted it within 2 days and send her a tracking number WHICH SET OFF ALARM BELLS. I then log into ebay to find a message from them telling me they had removed her account (only a day after it being set up) .The following day i receive an email from "paypal" saying the money had been transfered but after logging in to paypal there was nothing there. She even went to the trouble of sending yet another email from"ebay" saying her account had been reactivated and everything was ok and for me to carry on with the transaction. All these emails from ebay and paypal looked very original but were confirmed fake. On her ebay account she stated she was from merseyside liverpool and she gave a phone number which i did ring and it turned out it was a primary school in merseyside.but the email asked me to send to an address in nigeria . I was lucky but i hate to think of how many people fell for it SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL .
