Paypal is not the only safe way of getting money safely into other people account for settlement of transactions. Nochex is the best. It is free and do not make any charges. In fact, I do not have it nice with Paypal as I once fell victim of rogue trader on e-bay when I joined initially in 2005. Payment was made through Paypal money recouped from the trader was not up to what I paid them. Paypal refused to pay the difference.
Paypal appeared to be good as promoted by the e-bay, but wait till you have problem with a rogue seller or buyer that got nothing to sell but put a dramatic nice picture on the e-bay to attract you. After using paypal to transfer money to other Paypal account and see if they will recoup your money. I am speaking from a personal experience. e-bay removed them from their website. Money impounded from their account was never paid to me since 2005 by paypal. To make the mater worse, my account privileges was suspended and was unable to use the Paypal account to make payment up till today.
I have been using Nochex, cheque and bank transfer as forms of payment and I do not have any problem with payments since Paypal refused to see me as a victim of fraud aided by the paypal itself. I cannot close the Paypal account and I cannot use the account since I authorised my credit card to asked for payment from paypal when it becomes clear that I will have to pay the credit card bill.
Hence I do not recommend paypal.
