after buying a snazzy looking quinny zapp & not getting on with it, i decided to buy a maclaren quest.....
unlike many others, the look and shape of the trusted brand name maclaren is pretty much unchanged for decades, i believe the maclaren buggy was originally designed by a man whom previously had designed spitfires! anyway onto the subject!...
the maclaren is reasonably lightweight and easy to manouvre with optional locking wheels,it really can be folded with one hand & held by the handle on the side-unlike other buggies which claim they can!
it has a large shopping basket under, which is easily accessable.
comfy foam grip handles which are at a slant-this makes it comfy to push .
it has a removeable hood (with handy storage pocket) which is waterproof and also protects from the sun.
the buggy seat can be removed and stuck in the washing machine. the seat ,which has reflective strips ideal for night-time also has an extension which is hidden, but can be pulled out to extend the length of the seat perfect for a sleeping baby! the seat also has several position including lie back.
i have on several occasion put bags onto the handles and the buggy is still very stable.
the wheels are too small for rough terain-so it's a definate no no whilst walking the dogs!
the seat is quite technical to remove so it can be washed.
you have to make sure that everything is removed from the shopping basket-as even the smallest run away carrier bag will prevent it from folding properly.
AS YOU CAN SEE IN MY OPINION-THE BENEFITS WELL OUT WAY THE BAD SIDE OF THE MACLAREN QUEST.
