The word Psychic comes from the Greek word Psyche, meaning "breath of life", i.e. "soul or spirit". Someone who is Psychic is said to be in touch with their's, and/or another person's soul. Thus a psychic readings is actually a soul reading; where the psychic can connect with someone's soul. Sometimes a psychic will connect to the person's soul through their aura energy field (which is an extension of the body), and read information about a person's life.

The word Clairvoyant comes from the French for Clear Seeing. It seems in today's world the word Clairvoyant is often use to describe someone with psychic abilities because they can "clearly see" things most people cannot, including the future. Also, the word 'clairvoyant is also used in lieu of clairaudio, clairsentient, or clairessence.

The word Medium means 1) an agency of means of doing something, 2) a means by which something is communicated or expressed, 3) the means in which something is transported or transmitted, and a few other definitions. It's origin is Latin from the late 16th century and literally means the 'middle'. A medium is in the middle as conduit of information direct from the spirit world to the living world.

All mediums are psychic but not all psychics are mediums.
