One of England's fastest growing brands ~ designed in Leicestershire and reflecting the company's routes selling country clothing at Agricultural Shows and Equestrian Events.
Expect top quality textiles but with an ecclectic twist, retro references and above all clothes that work hard for you. Traditional clothing such as polo shirts, jeans, gilets and shirts are given a twist, expect contrasting printed linings, assorted buttons, grossgrain trims and graeat colour combinations.
As the company grows the range expands and now includes a wide range of children's clothes, Little Joules which match Boden for quality and styling but come with a more 'Style Anglais' and win hands down on colour. Look our for rugby shirts for boys, Elephant polo shirts for tomboys and Royal Ballet logos on clothes for little prima ballerinas.
Accessories are particularly strong, with great shoes being commissioned in Italy together with silk scarves and leather belts. There is costume jewellery and hosiery too, a little expensive for the quality offered. .
Materials are great throughout as the company print onto cotton, silk and linen to achieve a retro country style. Skirts and jackets are sometimes available in specially commissioned Joules tweed, pricey but great investment pieces. Knitwear tends to be of poorer quality fibres and is often synthetic. So Boden, or Helen Macabe Knitwear will fill this gap in the range. Or head to M&S for a little cashmere.
The beautifully designed dresses tend to feature prints designed in England but usually manufactured in China. The finish is good, some dresses are lined, colours fast and excellent tough zippers are often used in complimentary colours to add back interest to dresses.
