These compatible cartridges do not include the micro chip, however you will receive a chip extender that will allow you to use the micro chip from your old OEM cartridges. You must have the micro chips from used original cartridges to be able to use these compatible cartridges.

Cartridge Type:
These cartridges are compatible replacements that will work with the HP Photosmart 6510 printer. As the cartridges require the use of the micro chip from your previous OEM cartridge, the ink monitoring status on your computer and printer will show the cartridges to be empty, but this can be ignored and the printer will operate as normal.

The cartridges are not an OEM branded product manufactured by HP, but they are manufactured to ISO 9001 standards.

Micro Chip Replacement:
The micro chips from your previous OEM cartridges are required for these compatible cartridges to be able to function correctly. Full step by step illustrated instructions are included with the cartridges to show you how the micro chips should be attached to the provided chip extender. Once all micro chips have been transferred on to the chip extender it is then placed into the carriage of the printer and the replacement compatible cartridges can then be clicked into place. The next time you come to replace the cartridges you can simply replace the ink tanks, there will be no need to change the chips.

Eventually the micro chips will fail and they will need to be replaced with OEM micro chips, but they should offer around 2 or 3 cycles with the compatible cartridges. As we are not supplying the OEM micro chips we cannot guarantee how many cycles they will last and we cannot offer a guarantee on this.

Micro Chip Replacement Service:
We offer a micro chip replacement service if you do not feel confident removing the micro chip from the OEM cartridge and attaching it to the chip extender. If you want to take up this option then the additional cost is £4.00. If you wish to add this service then please send us a message before paying for the item and we can send a revised invoice to you.

You will be required to return your empty OEM cartridges to us and we will then change the micro chips over on to the chip extender and return the chip extender along with your compatible cartridges. We aim to transfer the micro chips and dispatch the chip extender along with your cartridges within 1 working day of receiving your empty OEM cartridges.

Micro Chip Type:

Please be aware that HP has now released a new range of micro chips that cannot be removed from the OEM cartridge, meaning that they cannot be used with these compatible cartridges. The image below shows the two different types of micro chip on the OEM cartridges, the type of the left can be removed and attached to the chip extender, where as the micro chip on the right has been embedded into the cartridge and cannot be removed.



If your empty OEM cartridges contain the new type of micro chip then you will need to obtain the old style micro chip to be able to use these compatible cartridges. If you purchase these compatible cartridges for use with the new style OEM micro chip then we will not be able to offer any guarantee on them.

Items dispatched by Special Delivery are delivered on the next working day before 13:00, which excludes Bank Holidays and Weekends.

All orders that are paid for before 14:00 Monday to Friday will be dispatched on the same day.
