Enjoy A Superb Week in One of the Most Beautiful Areas in the World.

Saturday to Saturday 18th - 25th June 2011.

There's so much to do - with or without children.

The Aviemore Centre is ideal for a week's holiday - especially in June just before it gets too busy up there.  There is so much to do, see and discover.  We have owned this week at Scandinavian Village for almost 25 years and spent some 18 weeks holiday in this apartment over that period - even though are children are grown we still like to go back and breath the fresh alpine air, enjoy the wildlife and discover new places.  We had intended to go up for the week this year but unfortunately, a change at work will not allow it.  We're too late to bank the week and make an exchange.  Thus, our prized holiday is up for Auction.

The Apartment - Our apartment is well equiped with hand crafted furniture, a balcony which is great for dining al fresco, and for watching the rabbits and deer which come down in the evening and early morning.  There is one bedroom with four single beds in it (we chose this as our children liked to bring friends) and a well sprung double in the back of the living room.  A full drying cabinet - for all the watersports gear, and ski-ing kit in winter, unless you have a really bad time on the dry slopes in summer!!  Telephone and free wifi. There's a laundry and library for books, dvd's etc. baby kit and a very helpful reception team.

The Centre - There's lots going on in and around the centre.  You will get a High Life Card for the week which gives free access to 21 Leisure Centres with varying facilities on offer.  There are shows, lakes with an abundance of watersports nearby.  Waterfalls, with dunk pools.  Interesting shops on the High Street.  Events in the centre and other hotels in Aviemore.

Further Afield - I repeat, we've been going for the last 25 years, we've done Whisky Trails, Highland Games, Gourmet Dining, visited Historical Sites, Food Tours, Glass Blowing at Caithness, Visited the Islands,  Walked mountains woods and valleys .......... There's just too many places to list.  One thing I will say is one of my favourite big days out is onto the Orkney Islands - what a trip - Churchill's bridges, Italian Chapel, Historial and Ancient sites - fantastic!  Oh, and there's lots of opportunity to have lazy days by the pool or lake!

Many thanks for your questions so far.  I've answered three below as they may be of use to other interested bidders -

- Yes, a pet is welcome at Scandinavian Village - I think they levy a small cleaning charge.

- The reception will be open until 8pm on the day of arrival.

- No, we don't have a 'Buy it Now' price.  We decided against the option when listing the holiday, as realistically we would have had to put it at least equal to the annual management fee, and we felt that that may not be achievable at such short notice.  But don't sit back and just be a 'watcher' and let someone else get this holiday, bid up to what you are prepared to pay and hopefully you'll be enjoying the delightful Highlands and Islands in less than two weeks time.
