End Closures for Polycarbonate Sheets and Glass Units
(2100mm length in White or Chocolate Brown and 10mm deep)  Protect your glass or polycarbonate roof sheets!

Also known as "U" Drips or "U" profile, these End Closures are designed to protect both polycarbonate and glass roofing material.

Fitted to the gutter end of a pitched roof, such as a conservatory, or to both ends of a free-standing roof; End Closures act as a protective and decorative finish.

Protects Glass as well as Polycarbonate

With three sides protected by glazing bar and ridge copings, the gutter end is often the only edge exposed. When left  exposed, the sun's UV can affect the seals around the glass unit, which could lead to  units failing within just 12 months. Fitting  End Closures helps stop this from happening.    

These End Closures are designed with a 3mm 'drip' front edge, to stop water running back up under the roofing material.

Fitting the End Closures    

Prepare Roof Material

Whether fitting to glass or polycarbonate, it's important that the material is cleaned and dried thoroughly to ensure that the End Closure works effectively. This is particularly important on the top face which will be sealed with silicone.

Anti-Dust Breather tape seal

If fitting to a polycarbonate sheet, ensure that Anti-Dust Breather tape is used to seal where the  End Closure is being applied to. If breather tape is missing, or in a poor state, then the end of the sheet should be re-sealed.

Anti-Dust Breather tape allows the movement of air inside the panel and the draining of any condensation, while preventing insects and dust from getting inside. The maximum breathability offered aids the dispersal of moisture that could otherwise lead to unsightly algae and mould. Anti-Dust Breather tape is not weatherproof and should therefore be protected by an End Closure.  

Fitting the End Closure

Cut the End Closure to the desired length, ideally the same width as the existing roofing material. Remove any swarf created when cutting the End Closure.

We recommend that a small bead of silicone is applied to the top edge along the entire length of the End Closure. This will seal the top face of the sheet and prevent water from entering the End Closure and making contact with the breather tape. It is important that polycarbonate compatible silicone is used as standard silicone may release an acid which can cloud the polycarbonate.

Further Advice

To helps the polycarbonate or glass sit flush on the glazing bar gasket (see A), we recommend that a section of drip is removed from the ends where the End Closure rests on the glazing bars (see B).

Returns - If your order is received faulty or you have changed your mind about the item/s you received, we offer a full refund policy in compliance with the Distance Selling Regulations (2000). Please advise of any return requests in writing via email, messaging or returns system via eBay within 7 working days after the goods have been delivered, (notification by phone is not acceptable). The goods must be returned to us within 28 days of receiving your item. The return postage is non-refundable, unless goods received are faulty. Please ensure they are returned in re-saleable condition, with all original packaging and protective bags, however small. Once we have received the goods back a full refund will be issued through the original means of payment i.e. PayPal, Credit/Debit card. Bespoke and goods made to the customers specification such as extra keys for cylinders and polycarbonate sheets are non – refundable.

Shipping - Orders are dispatched within 24 hours of payment Monday to Friday. All orders where payment is received before 1.00pm will be dispatched the same day. Any orders received after 1pm on Friday will not be processed and dispatched until Monday (except Bank Holiday Mondays or national holidays).

The rates you see for economy and standard delivery are available for all UK postcodes. Next day or get it fast is not available for the following postcode areas:-

Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland & Dublin, Isle of Man, Channel Islands
