Navigate for Malcolm Wilson, Rally Experience exclusive to Motorsport Foundation

To raise funds for the Motorsport Foundation, as part of National Motorsport Week June 30^th – July 8th, M-Sport are offering on Ebay, a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity to navigate a rally stage, driven by the company’s founder, and former British Rally Champion, Malcolm Wilson in his historic Ford Escort Mk2.

Wilson will drive his Mk2 Escort, as course car, on the Greystoke Stages in Cumbria on Sunday 8^th July. Rally fans can bid to navigate alongside this legendary driver, and World Champion team owner, in his superb car, via online auction site eBay (the official listing will be under ’experience voucher’ due to regulations). The winner will be trained on how to navigate the stage, before heading out for a never-to-be-forgotten full-speed run, down the stage.

The Mk2 Escort enjoyed huge success in its long and prestigious history, winning the RAC Rally every year from 1975 to 1979. The Mk2 claimed world victory taking Björn Waldegård and Ari Vatanen to the WRC Drivers’ titles in 1979 and 1981 respectively.

Wilson’s Escort Mk2 was built in 2008, specially for the Roger Albert Clark Rally – an event which Wilson, and co-driver John Millington, won with 14 stage victories.

The aim of National Motorsport Week is simple: to reach out and inspire newcomers to motorsport, and generate more interest, more spectators, more competitors, more jobs, more marshals and more officials. The Motorsport Foundation^® was founded, by the Motorsport Industry Association, to generate and provide funds to support good causes within the industry and the sport.

The auction will finish Thursday July 5th. All proceeds will go directly to the Motorsport Foundation. Winner will receive voucher via email, it will not be posted.
