SIGNATURE STR-1 HB (Honey Burst) LES PAUL Electric Guitar -HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN
If you don't know, just how good these guitars are, please watch this video review before you read on. (each time I watch it I think -why am I selling this guitar!)
For the record, I don't know this reviewer, but I DO agree with everything that he says about this beautiful guitar.
Signature STR-1 HB Les Paul guitar in Honeyburst,
Maple two piece cap, mahogany body/neck (50`s profile ) with long tenon joint extending in to neck pickup cavity. Gotoh tulip tuners and, Yes, I did fit the pickup switch plate.
Sale includes ABS moulded shaped LP hard-case pictured. I bought this just after I bought the guitar, and it has lived in it for several years, only coming out, occasionally, to be admired and to show people how an LP should be made and finished.
Lots has been written about these on the forums and there are reviews on the internet. They were HAND MADE in Japan to a very high specification in the FujiGen factory (established in 1960), that apparently made the Epiphone Elitist guitars and Japanese Gretsch and Fenders. They currently make some of the Japanese Ibanez models, as well as their new range of, own make and model, FGN guitars.
Quality wise, these are in a different league to the Epiphones and other high end LP copies. Being Japanese they are certainly as good as the MIJ Tokais and are better made and finished than some of the "Genuine Articles", that I have seen over the years.
This is a "very serious guitar" - I tested it when I bought it by plugging it into an old Watkins valve amp, that I had at the time, and - WOW!!! This guitar can growl, it can sing, it can be so mellow. Blues, jazz or rock, all accomplished with great style and all the right tones!
Overlooked, in part, by guitar buyers because when you are searching through For Sale listings and you see "STR-1", you think "Strat" not "Les Paul". The Japanese were never great with names - Springy Sound, Breezy Sound ??
- High-end Les Paul handcrafted by Fujigen Japan, around 2004
- Honey Burst Poly finish
- Two piece mahogany back, thick maple carved top
- Twin covered Humbuckers
- Cream scratch-plate body binding and tuner pegs.
- Gotoh tuners
- Stop tailpiece and Tunomatic bridge
- 3 position Pick-up switch - Bridge/Both/Neck
- Superb craftsmanship, a future classic
Apparently only 1000 made,
YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME AND INSPECT THE GUITAR, IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED IN BIDDING.
My reason for ( a reluctant) sale? Arthritis in my hands and the need to release some equity and "trim down" my collection. The condition is absolutely pristine - showroom condition. Still has the Manufacturers tag/quality control card. The plastic protectors are still on the rear covers. As I have had it in storage, I will list it as New-Other.
Courier collection and delivery, will cost around £25* (bulky and heavy) - insured up to selling price (I won't send it without full cover!) but collection is both welcome and preferred, since this is such a valuable instrument.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE BIDDING.
PLEASE! NO ZERO RATED BIDDERS WITHOUT PRIOR AGREEMENT (I have been let down before!)
