For sale is the historic Skylark IX it is thought to be only remaining original Dunkirk little ship in Scotland.

The Skylark IX played an important role in 'Operation Dynamo' and rescued around 600 soldiers from the shores of Dunkirk.
After her exploits at Dunkirk the Skylark worked as a minesweeper and target boat. After the war she came to Loch Lomond, where for 33 years she enjoyed a quieter life as a cruise boat.
Skylark IX foundered at her moorings near Balloch on the River Leven two days after the 70th anniversary of the evacuations. 

The boat is for sale on behalf of Leven Cruising Club for £1 as long as you have the means to raise the vessel. We can provide a reasonable sized working party free of charge to assist with raising the boat but the buyer will need to provide the heavy lifting equipment and means of transportation.

Present condition

The Skylark IX is in pretty bad condition but we are sure that it could be restored if it was raised. As mentioned before it is the last remaining little ship in Scotland and therefore it is a piece of maritime history. This boat would make an excellent restoration project as a museum piece or for anyone who has the skills to restore this historic ship.

The winner of this listing will be responsible for the raising of the boat and all costs occurred during this process, We can provide a reasonable sized working party free of charge to assist with raising the boat but the buyer will need to provide the heavy lifting equipment and means of transportation.
This is the Skylarks last chance of rescue, If a seller is not found then we will be forced to break up the boat.
