Hi this ad is for my Henley Blue 1990 Austin Metro City, unfortunately selling due to lack of funds.

The car started off as a 998, but I have since fitted a fast road 1275 engine, with a full Maniflow exhaust with a Maiflow Stage II LCB manifold. The engine was from another Austin Metro that had done 43,000 miles, and has a claimed power of 90BHP according to a rolling road reciept I have. I have tons of reciepts and history for the engine dating back to 2005. The engine has had roughly £2000 spent on it in the last 10,000 miles. This includes:

- 1.5:1 Roller Tip Rockers (pictured)
- Kent 266 Camshaft
- Ported unleaded cylinder head with 35.6mm inlet valves.
- Compression radio raised to 10.5:1
- Lightened and Balanced flywheel
- Alloy Inlet Manifold with a K&N air filter.
- MG Metro electronic distributor
- High pressure oil pump
- New fuel pump
- New alternator
- New head gasket
- New flywheel oil seal
- New cam followers
- New thermostat

All the major modifications to the engine were carried out by Minipower in Surrey, and the cylinder head was skimmed and modified by Bill Richards racing in Ashford.

I have only filled up this engine with Valvoline 20/50 Racing mineral oil since I've used it. I've noticed the car does smoke a little bit when cold, but due to the engines age I'm not surprised that it burns a bit of oil. There is the standard A series oil leak from the sump, and from the gearbox selector seal. Nothing major I'm just trying to be as honest as possible. I believe a bit of oil has came out of the dipstick hole, a new dipstick with a better seal should cure that, also and I'm being really picky now but a bit of oil has weeped from the rocker cover, on one of the bolts that holds it on, that just needs a washer fitted to seal it up. The starter motor is also a bit noisy but it works fine and spins fast so it hasn't been bothering me.

Overall the car drives smoothly and idles smoothly, and pulls well throughout the gears.

The car has had a host of other things fitted to it since I bought it in September 2011. This includes:

- Brand new EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads
- Brand new wheel cylinders and brake shoes
- Genuine 12X5 Minilight wheels with Yokohama A539 tyres all round. The rear two tyres have 4mm of tread, and the front two are brand new. These wheels are in good condition and hold pressure fine, but could ideally do with a refurb, especially the nearside rear.
- Rover 220 Turbo Seats, front and back. The front seats are the rover seats on Metro runners, and the rear seats are Metro seats, but professionally retrimmed in the Rover 220 material.
- Mountney leather steering wheel
- MG Metro dash clocks showing 46000 miles. I have the original clocks which I will include with the car, I have done less than 400 miles since swapping the clocks.
- Pioneer iPod head unit with Alpine speakers in the doors.
- Remote central locking

There are bound to be other small things that I've forgoten to mention, so I'll keep this updated.

The body of the car is in very good condition for it's age as you can see in the pictures, there are a few age related marks that I'll try to list now. There is white marks on the rear quarters next to the front of the rear arches, it looks like before the car has had some plastic trim off a later Metro fitted, but since removed. I have tried my best to treat it and it's perfectly presentable, I just thought I'd mention it. There is also some small white dots of what look like paint on the front bumper and the bonnet, it looks like paint was flicked up off of the road onto the car at some point in it's life. Apart from this and some other minor marks, the paint shines up very well when washed. The front wings have been sprayed at some point but it was to a good standard it seems, apart from a noticable part on the front of the O/S front wing.

There is almost no rust on the body of the car apart from a small scab on the rear of the the roof gutters, again nothing serious. There is also some rust on the inside of the door bottoms, but this is perfectly treatable and does not show on the outside at all. The worst is a small hole at the back of the boot floor, in the right hand corner. I have looked underneath this car time and time again and this is the only bit of rot I could find, the car is otherwise completely solid and that small hole will not make it fail an MOT. The car has clearly been waxoyle treated in the past, but it is missing some waxoyle on the back of the spare wheel well, where it looks like some was blown off by a jet wash.

The interior is in good condition, the headlining is nice and clean and the carpet is also in good condition, it doesn't leak water when it rains also. Bad points are is that a seat winder is missing for the passenger side seat, and that the dashboard is slightly warped from what looks like sun damage, and the glove box is missing, although I can include one I've not fitted.

The car has only done just over 40,000 miles now, and has had 5 previous owners. The MOT and tax run out in August. One small thing, is that the car is still registered as a 998 on the log book. This is because I only carried out the engine swap a month ago and was planning of changing the details this month, but never got the chance.

I will take £900 for the car which I believe it fair considering its rarity, condition and spec. I am happy to listen to reasonable offers though.

Thanks, Scott
