Condition: The bindings are holding, hinges cracked, the calf generally in good condition though with some wear to surface/extremities from handling, corners bumped and abraded, volume 2 rather darker than volume 1. Contents are holding firmly and are generally in very good clean condition if a little toned, with some light scattered foxing, occasional creases or dust marking though nothing too disfiguring. The plates are crisp and in good order, folding sheet undamaged. Tear with loss at lower corner of pp91 (V1), plate of Noah's Ark a little creased, damp staining to pp650-668 (V1). Period plain endpapers with early bookplate of John Kington (Oriel College, Oxford) to upper pastedowns and his inscription opposite.
