1743 Third Edition History of England by Rapin de Thoyras Vol. 1
Original copy of "The History of England". written in French by Mr. Rapin de Yhoyras and translated into English, with additional notes, by N. Tindal. This is Volume 1 of the Third Edition and was published by John and Paul Knapton in 1743.
The hardback book contains over 800 pages "illustarted with Maps, Genealogical Tables and the Heads and Monuments of the Kings, engraven on copper plates". This volume covers the period from the Roman Invasion to the reign of Henry VIII.
The covers are detached (but present) and the spine is missing, but apart from that, the inside of the book is, as far as I can tell, complete and in very good condition.
This book would make an ideal project for rebinding, resulting in a book that, in good condition, has a very high retail value.
Please note that eBay rules prevent me from quoting postage costs in the normal way. The book weighs well over 4kg. Insured carriage to the UK will be £6.00. If you are overseas and wish to purchase, please contact me before buying for a carriage estimate. As a rough guide, carriage to European destinations would be around £21 and to the rest of the world around £39, but please email for information about your own location before buying.

I can only accept payment by PayPal, a Sterling cheque drawn on a UK bank or cash Sterling, US Dollars or Euros (sent at your own risk).
Postage and packing costs quoted do not normally include insurance or any form of Special Delivery. If you require these, please let me know before making payment. Higher value items will include insurance, but this is always mentioned in the listing.
I do not normally send an invoice. An exception to this is if you have won multiple items, when I will combine items for the best postage cost. Please request an invoice using that option within eBay.
I obtain a proof of posting for all items. In the event of the need to claim for non-delivery etc, the responsibility lies with the buyer, in which case I will forward a copy of the proof of posting document.
