This is one of ten beta Raspberry Pi Model Bs which the Raspberry Pi Foundation, an educational charity making very small computers, is auctioning to raise funds. These pre-release boards are from our test batch, and work in exactly the same way as the retail Raspberry Pi boards you will be able to buy in about a month's time. They differ in a couple of cosmetic details from the boards we'll be selling soon - we've taken some video that you can watch to learn more details.
This auction is for the Raspberry Pi with the serial number #10. These boards come from a numbered, very limited edition of only ten units. We'll be auctioning two a day for the next five days, starting with the unit numbered #10, counting down to #01. They will be sent to the auction winners with a numbered certificate of authenticity, stating that the board is one of the first ten ever built. We'll also throw in a USB power supply and an SD card with a pre-release Linux distribution on it. You are bidding on a development board, which does not attract a warranty or support. All the money raised from this auction will be put straight back into the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and will be used to fund its charitable activities. On 01-Jan-12 at 01:07:26 GMT, seller added the following information: EDIT TO ADD: We understand that international buyers are having trouble with this auction. Please message us on eBay if you want to bid, and we'll add you to the exemption list. The auctions for #8 through #1 will be properly open to international bidders from the start - it turns out we (OK, Liz) failed to tick a box that needed ticking before this auction went live, so we can't change it now. |
