Ready to join the 3D printing revolution? Sweet. Don't have time to build one? Well, it does take a while...let me help. This auction is for my fully assembled, calibrated and tested RepRap 3D printer, from the kit of parts sold by eMaker in their amazingly successful IndieGoGo campaign. It takes a filament of ABS or PLA plastic and uses it to built objects in almost any shape you can imagine, including sets of the custom parts you need to build a copy of the printer itself. The printer has been developed by the open source hardware and software communities and every part of the process of printing an object can be done with free software (these ones are just my choices, there are several versions of each program around):
Design your object with this: http://sketchup.google.com/ Translate the digital model into a gcode file for the printer with this: http://slic3r.org/ Control the printer itself with this: https://github.com/kliment/Printrun Enjoy the speed and quiet running afforded by this firmware, as your object prints: https://github.com/ErikZalm/Marlin Feed the printer with ABS or PLA plastic in 1.75mm filament, available at these places: http://reprap.org/wiki/Printing_Material_Suppliers and learn everything you want to about your 3D printer - its history, design, state of the art, improvements (that you can print and use to upgrade your machine immediately), and get involved in its development here: http://reprap.org/wiki/RepRap Buy upgrades or spares here: http://www.emakershop.com/ All this and other information you need about these machines is available here (and in many other places on the web): http://reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page The RepRap Huxley has a build volume of 140mmx140mmx110mm. The auction includes a couple of reels of different coloured PLA filament to get you started. The electronics are Sanguinololu 1.3a running Marlin non-gen-6 firmware (with look-ahead and smooth, fast printing). It will help you to have a technical mindset available (your own or someone friendly) when you set this printer up and learn to use it. I can provide some email support with the set up of this printer so that you can get everything up and printing as smoothly as possible. The printer for sale here is my own; I have used it happily for about 3 months now and have printed: replacement parts to fix several household breakages, an instrument mic clip, bearing linkages and motor mounts for a large cnc machine, a 3D-happy birthday sculpture for my friend, a set of parts for another 3D printer, and many other oddly shaped functional and artistic things. It's an amazing piece of technology, get involved! I am happy to post this to anywhere in the world and will charge only the actual shipping costs. I'm happy for you to arrange a courier or specify a particular postal service; just send me a message when you've won the auction and I'll get back to you with a final amount as soon as possible. Good luck! |
