This is a 'Buy it Now' for a 1935 King George V Proof Crown with the raised edge lettering in it's original case of issue - ESC 378 & Spink 4050.

There were only 2,500 of these coins struck to Proof quality with the raised edge lettering,  they are also made of .925 silver.

This a very nice example that I would grade as near FDC which hasn't been interfered with in any way or cleaned.

Judge yourself, I do grade and describe my coins as accurately as possible and you can check my Feedback and buy with complete confidence. The coin has a nice even flan, an excellent edge along with some uneven surface toning often associated with these coins, but it still maintains it's Proof mirror and frosted finish.

Also included is the original box of issue, which looks a little dirty but is in very good condition and fully intact.

In the hand this is a very pleasing and honest example with nice blank fields in it's original condition.

If you see one of these coins which is nice and bright with no toning, be warned, it might look pretty but it's probably been cleaned or dipped !

Money back guarantee if not as described.

If anyone would like to see the original picture shown here of the coin, uncompressed by eBay, send me a message with your email address and I will gladly forward it on.

I will accept sensible offers for this coin, overseas buyers please contact me before buying as I will have to organise full postal insurance cover.

I do accept PayPal, but would much have a personal cheque or bank transfer if at all possible please - Thank you.

==============================

1935 KING GEORGE V .925 SILVER PROOF JUBILEE CROWN WITH RAISED EDGE LETTERING - only 2,500 issued.

The last time I sold one of these coins on eBay I got an average of two messages a week from people saying they had one of these coins

, yet on every occasion it turned out they didn't. As stated above there were only 2,500 of these coins issued and they were made of .925 silver and struck to Proof quality, giving the blank fields of the coin a mirror finish and a 'frosted' look to the effigy and design.

1935 KING GEORGE V .500 SILVER JUBILEE CROWN - 715,769 issued

The standard version of this coin is only made of .500 silver and does not have a Proof finish to it. On these coins the lettering on the edge of the coin, "Decus et Tutamen Anno Regni XXV" is also incuse lettering, i.e. punched into the coin, whereas on the Proof coin this lettering is raised above the surface of the edge. Please check this first before sending me a message saying you think you have one, as there are clear differences in the two issues of this coin.

1935 KING GEORGE V .500 SILVER SPECIMEN JUBILEE CROWN - Unknown Issue.

The other version of this coin issued is the Specimen coin, which also came in the same red box as the Proof coin. However, this coin is only made of .500 silver like the standard issue and also has incuse edge lettering, but it has a superior striking over the standard issue coin and a marginally sharper finish.

1935 KING GEORGE V GOLD PROOF JUBILEE CROWN - Only 28 issued

Finally the last issue of this coin was in gold Proof, a very scarce coin and I have only ever seen and handled one of them.
