If you are on the market for a superb gypsy jazz guitar, you
should consider acquiring this 1940 Busato Grand Model. I own more than a dozen
Busatos (check gypsyjazzguitars dotcom for more infos on Busatos) and this
round sound hole Busato is on top of the list as far as condition is concerned.
There was only one crack on the lower bout, stabilized and well repaired. This guitar has a true Busato sound. Loud, very balanced,
with a dry bark and tons of projection. I used to own Neil Andersson’s Busato
and this one I am selling today has the very same sound signature, and round
sound hole guitars sound like oval sound hole and not like D hole ones. While
Neil’s Busato sold for 17,000$, you will get this one for less than half the
price as I get good sources from Europe. Great neck, fast, new frets and fret board, with a two way truss
rod I had installed recently by my luthier Martin Tremblay. This will protect
your investment as vintage guitars are much easier to set up with a truss rod.
The Delaruelle Busato tuners and the Busato style period tailpiece are original
to this guitar. The guitar has its original Busato rectangular label. Bid with confidence and check my references. There is less
than one out of a million chance you do not like the guitar if you buy and play
it. If so, please be aware that I never refused a return. Busato guitars are the very best and they are super rare and expensive. This guitar is la crème de la crème of high-end gypsy guitars. Dorado Schmitt came to Montréal a couple of weeks ago to play with my friend Denis Chang and he bought a Busato from me, and his accompanist Francko bought also one Busato from me. Dorado was interested in this round sound hole but it was being refretted at my luthier, so he settled for another one. It was fun for me to play with Dorado, he is a great guy and a true legend. Denis loves this round sound hole and thinks I should not sell it but I have too many and it is a shame to prevent good players from owning legend instruments which are superb sounding and playing. So trust me like Dorado, you won't regret it.
