For auction is a vintage Avalon Modula storage display wall unit in Teak. With a slim and minimalist look, these units are becoming very popular these days among Modernist and Retro deco lovers. The versatility of this system is great and you can add elements anytime according to your needs.

The black uprights have a simple design giving this system a much more lighter and elegant appearance that the Ladderax ones. This system is similar to the Stapples Ladderax System and although in our opinion it’s poorer in quality we think it’s much richer in style.

All parts are in great vintage condition with minor marks/scratches commeasuring with age that we’ve tried to show in the photos. There is a small hole made on the back of the glass cabinet (just above the middle shelf, as per photos).

This combination of the Avalon Modula system range is comprising of:

1 Fall-flap unit (32”x12”x16”)
1 Cabinet unit (32”x17”x16”)
2 Shelves (32”x12”)
1 Glass door unit (32”x12”x24”)
3 Uprights (72”x12”)
10  Supporting bars

Overall dimension: W 165cm; D 45cm; H 190cm

A bit of history:

AVALON MODULA was an inexpensive system of space-saving wall units design to solve the many storage problems in the 60s/70s homes. The range of cabinets and shelves were finished indistinctive Burma Teak veneer and were easily assembled on simple free-standing metal uprights. The system was as flexible and adaptable as anyone cared to make it. Each unit could be purchased separately thus enabling all kind of combinations according to needs. This system was very popular in the 60s and 70s and would have complemented many modern households.
