Brand: Fender

Here is a great original 1965 Strat in a RARE "see-through blonde" finish in very good condition. It has a wonderfully playing, nice sized "D" shaped neck with the original finish and frets still in very good shape. The size is a classic and perfect and fits very nicely in the palm. It measures 1 5/8ths inches at the nut and 2 inches at the 12th fret. The finish is worn on the back of neck to give it a silky smooth feel for easy playing. It has the original nut and single string tree. The decal is original and in excellent shape. The dark, thick Brazilian fret board is to die for !  It retains the original "double line" Kluson tuners in excellent condition with no others ever being installed. The date code on the base of the neck is ink stamped and reads " 2 MAR 65 B ." The serial number on the neck plate is " L693XX. "

The body retains it's beautiful original "SEE-THROUGH BLONDE " finish with a few battle scars on the front and a buckle rash spot on the back with some edge wear, as well. Over all, very nice ! The finish is, of course, Nitro and shows nice grain through the finish ! It has some weather checking when up close and personal. No extra holes or routing here. All of the plastic ( including the trem cover plate with screws in the case ) and hardware are original and in very clean, nice condition. Some of the screws tops have lost their shine, but that is common. There is the common crack in the original guard on the bass side of the neck pickup. It has a newer trem claw and a few extra holes where someone was trying to get it " juuuuuust right !"  ;)

The pickups are absolutely balanced and sound SO sweet !!   They are all light grey fiber bottoms with no pencil date on any of them, but DEFINITELY the originals. The Ohm readings are.. Bridge - 5.74  ....... Middle - 6.70 .......... Neck  - 5.95. Talk about a great sounding strat !! All wiring and electronics are original and all there. The pots all read " 137 6428 " for the 28th week of 1964. The bridge is very clean with little if any rust on some of the original " pat. pend." saddles. Unfortunately the original trem bar is long gone, but you can find one if needed.

This is a great and classic Strats from a great year and is still Pre-CBS ! The early '65 Strats were the best in sound and playability, in my opinion. This is especially cool being See-Through Blonde. It comes in it's original black tolex with orangey-red lining, "No-Logo" case in very good condition.

COME ON FOLKS ! This is the last reduction and, frankly, this is a STEAL !!  Look what Vintage stores want for a plain old sunburst. This is a BLONDE !!!!
