I have for sale a Jack Taylor frameset. Not sure if it’s a `Tourist` or `Super Tourist`
Seat Tube: 63cms centre to top.
Top tube : 58.5cms centre to centre.
Frame number: 6180, which dates it to 1972.
Re-enamelled black with yellow head tube and seat tube panel. Nice lugs, lined in gold.
`Mondrian` transfers and Reynolds `Model Tourist` 531 transfer on seat tube.
Campagnolo fork ends and headset.
Newly fitted sealed bottom bracket (probably done no more than 100 miles) for double chainset.
One set of down tube bottle bosses; pump pegs behind seat tube; braze-ons for cantilever brakes + rear brake hanger; mudguards eyes (not threaded - for French mudguard draw bolts - obviously will take nuts and bolts); front fork lamp boss;
Gear lever bosses on down tube; braze-on gear and brake cable bosses.
There are really no issues with this frame. Headset, which may well be original, is a bit tight and not too smooth, but the frame has been standing for some while. I`ve been running this with 27 x 1.25" wheels and tyres.
The paintwork is good - one or two bits around the fork ends, but being black will touch up easily. Some small black touch-ups carefully made by previous owner.
One of the images shows the bike as built and used. Some of the bits will be coming up for sale.
I bought this bike some years ago fitted with an assortment of ill-matched equipment. I took it down to the frame and rebuilt it, mainly with what I had. Sadly I have come to the conclusion that I don’t ride it much because it’s a bit big for me, hence the sale.
This is a nice tidy frameset by a builder of high repute and they don’t come up very often. PLUS - it’s ready to build with little to do to it.
The frame will be sent via courier, pipe wrapped around main tubes, bubble wrapped around everything else and boxed.
Please ask if you want any further information or images. You are welcome to come and have a look on appointment. Collection by the winning bidder would be positively supported!
Good luck with the bidding and thanks for looking at this item. I do have 100% positive feedback.
Also have a look at my other cycling related items which will be up for sale - more to be listed over the next week.
