1979 Puch MV50 Moped
Original Ex Postal Office Moped
1979 Ex Royal Mail Post Office Puch Moped in Post Office Red. Mopeds such as this were specially made for Post Office and Telegram workers.
Distinguishing Post Office Features are the special Post Office Frame Number stamped onto the bike. Post Office Puch moped models were fitted with 2 speed gears and all post office vehicles had the recommended tyre pressures stamped or labelled onto the mudguards/fenders. They still do this today on the vans. Saved a lot of time looking up tyre pressures.
Puch Mopeds were chosen by the Post Office for their build quality and reliability to get the job done.

Model For Sale:-
Originally this Post Office model was owned by Truro Post Office for Telegram and Letter deliveries. Since 1983 it has been in private ownership forming part of a collection of mopeds, the owner of which intended to set up a museum of rare bikes. Due to the high daily demands of the Postal Service many Classic Post Office vehicles have been scrapped or were sold off after use making this a rare find. Unfortunately I am unable to keep everything.
The model for sale has some additional features which is probably one of the reasons it survived as based on the kit present it could have even been used by a Post Office Health and Safety Manager:-
Included with this bike is the V5C and a copy of the original post office registration document.

The Puch is 35 years old and as such there are signs of surface rust to the wheels and other places. The bike is in running order, but is not as smooth as the other model I have sale with only 979 miles on the clock.
An original Puch Post Office /Telegram Moped with matching frame and engine numbers, with plenty of character and extras to provide a head turning classic with plenty to talk about. Ideal for Classic Shows, runs, Museum or Serious Collector.

I ended the previous auction of this bike due to suspicious bidding activity. Large bids were retracted to possibly put off genuine watchers and bidders. Those responsible have been blocked from further bidding. The majority of Ebay users I find to be honest and it is a shame that a small group spoil it for genuine buyers, bike enthusiasts and sellers.
If you were interested in this bike previously then please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and I hope my feedback and information above will reassure you of a fair auction. The bike will be sold by auction and ends 6th July so good luck and please bid with confidence.
