Benelli 354 Sport Taxed and Tested until end March next year Mileage 7650 only (increasing slightly as i keep giving her a run out) A very rare bike indeed. Had not been on the road since @1996. Starts on the button,had carbs cleaned ,and balanced she runs great now,and pulls away quickly and smoothly in all gears,fires on all cylinders but still has some resistance at mid revs when fully warm,but if you give her more throttle she pulls away no probs but does feel as though a good minting of the carbs is still needed to iron out this mid throttle problem . Points set up professionally and timing,i,ve only done @50 miles but all very local, ,but must say its the best starter i,ve ever owned .Had both coils replaced,plugs and oil done too.Cam chain rattle on idle as is normal but quiet when riding,probably needs adjusting. Could be ridden home from here . Paintwork is really excellent and the side panels are tin not cracked plastic! There is pitting on the silencer shown in pics,and the damper springs,but all this can be remedied, (if she was taken to concourse condition probably worth up to £4000 ) She's only covered 7650 miles from new and i have all the mot's since 1989 showing mileage at that time of 5888,then 6140, 6245, 6762, then my mot 7571. I feel the brakes could do with a good service,although passed MOT no advisories the foot brake will need bleeding i feel as it travels a long way. l bought the bike to use but unfortunately,as you can see shes a racer low handlebars etc and i cannot ride any distance as l have a bad back and riding position is not for me. As i have said don't expect perfection,but with a bit of tlc she will be a great rare bike to own. Your chance to own a very low mileage Benelli rarity. On 02-May-12 at 10:01:30 BST, seller added the following information: Addendum:- Please note i have been receiving several e.mails re the bike and the cam chain rattle etc.Anyone who bids on the bike must accept the bike with any faults as it is a project in progress,i have had carbs done partially at one bike repairers and the timing ,plugs etc done at another,i'm no expert and know nothing about Benellis so any faults known or not known will have to be accepted by the purchaser,i have great feedback and i do not sell items which are not right but this is where i am with this bike,ideally come and have a look and listen before you bid. l've been assured its worth much more than the opening price but that's for you to decide.l would recommend any buyer knows about bikes and their mechanics before bidding. So bid away,its just that i'm cautious and dont want any flak from a buyer,it is what it is. |
