The time has come to part with my beloved 4.6 litre Classic Yes 4.6, not 3.9 or 4.2........a 4.6! At 73000 miles this vehicle had a new 4554cc engine block fitted by J.E Developments .....for even more ooommmph! The head is original though showing 3.9 - the engine takes a mixture of 4.6 and 3.9 service ancilleries There is a Bedini LPG system fitted however the tank was disconnected when I required more room in the boot for a trip to Spain. I could reconnect it, but for a buyers piece of mind I would recommend you use a qualified LPG engineer rather than me. This car was the height of motoring in 1994 and has absolutely everything a Vogue should have.... Brown leather, heated, automated seats with arm rests, sun roof, electronic mirrorsand a pre-heating device for cold mornings that I have never been able to fathom out It also has 4 BF Goodrich All Terrain Tyres with plenty of tread on them But what you really want to know is the faults and why it failed its MOT this week From the test report 1) Nearside inner front lower wheel arch - excessive corrosion within 30cm of body mountings 2) Nearside inner lower wheel arch - excessive corrosion within 30cm of body mountings 3) Rear exhaust has major leak of exhaust gases 4) Front (half of front to rear) brake pipe excessively corroded 5) Nearside front brake pipe excessively corroded 6) Offside front brake pipe excessively corroded 7) Nearside front headlamp aim too high Advisory Items 8) Centre exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases 9) Front brake disc worn 10) Rear brake disc worn 11) Front brake pads wearing thin 12) Wiper blades split 13) Nearside front inner wing corroded BUT NOW FOR SOME SELLING POINTS The bodywork is in very good condition - there is a small bit of rust creeping into the lower tail gate, some bubbling on the rear wheel arches, and the upper tail gate - in fact this is a replacement to the original upper tail gate. The interior is in immaculate condition - parcel shelf has been modified with two slits to accommodate a dog guard - see photo Hardly ever starts first time - always the second or third time - and then runs like a dream. Worth buying for the engine alone! What's been replaced? The ignition barrel - comes with 2 complete sets of keys/fobs The offside sill - some very extensive and expensive welding from wheel arch to wheel arch.As mentioned earlier - the upper tailgateThe air suspension has been replaced with springs.Gear box was overhauled and reconditioned last year The car has a tow bar with double electrics and has been used for towing my trailer tent. The car has not been used for off roading.
