1997 Ducati 748
11 months MOT
Bought in 2010 with the intention of using it on the track however, decided it was much too pretty to subject to life on the track and was used as a weekend toy for a few months.
In July 2011 it was fully serviced (£1800+) at Motocorse Ducati specialists in Wrexham which included rocker arms, clutch master cylinder, belts and tune (including correct chip for Termignonis).
Since then it has done approx 1000 miles and has spent the majority of its life as an ornament in the front room (and doubling as a Christmas tree in December).
Seeing as though we haven't used it and Rach is wanting to swap her Blade for a 899 Panigale we are looking to sell.
We had it MOT'd and the belts done again in November but when we refuelled the tank (I drained it when it was in the house and removed the fuel pump) it has developed a leak. Upon investigation it appears to be the flange around the pump aperture that has been slightly bent out of shape so that the pump doesn't seal properly.
The mechanic used a tank off a 916 to run up the engine and test the belts etc.
There is a scuff on the left hand side of the seat unit (see pics). This was on the seat unit when we fitted it to replace the biposto seat. The bike has not been crashed!
Before we had it MOT'd we replaced the tyres as they were a mis-matched pair of Michelin rear and Bridgestone front with a set we picked up from Dan Hegarty's mechanic at Oulton this year. They are a set of Pirelli Supercorse 120 front and 180 rear that had done 4 laps before he ran on at the chicane and pulled in. They have not been used on this bike yet as you can see the team chalk marks on the rear are still evident.
All in all this is an honest bike that has had more money spent on it than miles. It's not showroom condition but it looks good and goes well.
As the tank seal is leaking the bike will not be able to be started without a spare tank or the flange/seal repair.
We have detailed service history of the bike in our ownership and will answer any questions as quickly and as honestly as possible.
We are not looking for top dollar on the bike as we know it needs the leak sorting and there is a scuff on the seat.
