19th Century Wedgwood Porcelain Tea Set for Whitefriars Glass Works

Included are a Coffee pot, a hot water or possible teapot, a sugar bowl, creamer 5 cups and 6 saucers.

Condition - Both pots, the sugar bowl and creamer all have heavy crazing with associated. mild to moderate discoloration.  The coffee pot (long spout) and the sugar bowl each have a few small chips on the base as shown in my pictures. The other pot has a crack and small chip on the base, also shown in my pictures.  One cup has a shallow chip, primarily seen on the underside and another has a very tight hairline. The saucers are in great shape. Other than the specifics mentioned, the pieces are in great shape with only minor signs of use.

Measurements;

 The pots are 8" to the top of their finials and each hold 2 cups.  The sugar bowl is 5 1/2" to the top of the finial and 5 1/2" from handle to handle, the creamer is 3 1/2" to the top of the handle and 4' from handle to spout, each cup is 2" tall and 1 7/8" in diameter and the the saucers are 4" in diameter.

Pieces marked; "Manufactured for James Powell & Sons Whitefriars Glass Works, London, Wedgwood, Etruria." The word "Wedgwood" is also incised near the ink mark.

About Whitefriars; James Powell purchased the Whitefriars Glass Works in 1834 for his sons.  Early on, they produced stained glass windows for churches.  They patented a technique for making the glass sections which made them leaders in the world of glass making at a time when churches were being built throughout the world. The company became closely associated with many of the most influential architects of the 19th century and by the 1850's began manufacturing table glass after making pieces for William Morris's revolutionary "Red House." Powell & Sons continued making beautiful and innovative glass reflecting all the trends of their times including Art Nouveau and Art Deco. They were considered one of the premier glass manufacturers in Britain until the company was sold in 1981.

Before bidding please read the following;

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS; We are very appreciative of our international customers. However, please be aware that we will NOT falsify customs forms by stating that the item you have won is a gift or by stating it's value at a fraction of what it really is. Please expect to have to pay customs charges and any related fees. These fees are determined by your country's government, not us. We do not know the customs charges in your country and are in no way responsible for them. Additionally, packages can be held up in customs and take longer than expected for arrival. Unfortunately, we have no control over that.

SHIPPING; We charge you the amount for postage what we are charged by the USPS on both foreign and domestic packages. We do charge a $2.00 handling fee. All standard shipping charges are clearly laid out in our auctions and fixed price sales. However, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

COMBINED SHIPPING; We offer combined shipping with any purchase as long as it is safe to do so. If you are buying more than one item or even several of the same item, please contact us BEFORE paying to request a combined shipping invoice directly from us. Please do not pay first. The Ebay system does not handle all the complexities of combined shipping and does not always quote you accurate combined shipping costs. It will automatically generate an invoice that frequently overcharges and occasionally undercharges (for priority mail). If you would like information about combined shipping charges in advance of purchase, please email us your questions and include your zip code in your email.

INSURANCEEbay no longer allows us to make insurance mandatory. Therefore, unless requested, it is not provided. If you do request it, please understand that there will be an additional charge. We charge standard USPS rates and use a private insurer called Endicia because of past difficulties collecting on claims with the USPS.

Your max bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.
We keep your max bid amount a secret from the seller and other bidders.
