It is a fine product and I have used Jenolite for over 30 years. Unlike some other products; you don't need to remove it before applying paint! I have found over the years that the best way of using it, is to remove all paint from around the rusted area by grinding the surface back to the clean metal underneath. Once you have clean metal all round the rusted spot or area, apply with a small art brush, a thin coat of Jenolite to the rust and the clean metal. leave a narrow gap of clean metal next to where the paint ends. The reason for this is: you don't have to do anything but repaint with primer then top coat. Jenolite just neutralizes the rust by chemical reaction. It will turn the rust and metal black, This tells you that you have successfully killed your rust problem. Excellent for classic cars or bikes. I bought a 150g bottle, it put it into a small jib which filled about 4cm thick. I had plans to get rid of rust from under a 4x4 bumper as well as the tow hitch, there was only just enough to do one thin layer under the bumper and that was it. For the price I'd say its not worth it

I have used Jenolite for a number of years and I am happy with the results, if you want something to remove the rust and leave a shiny surface then this probably isn’t what you are looking for. The surface left takes paint well and the rust doesn’t come back easily. My only complaint is the price! Not cheap but not as expensive as some of the modern alternatives. Always have a bottle on the shelf in your man cave!

for those who do not know about Jenolite, it converts rust to a solid surface that can be painted, use it carefully as it will stain paintwork, ideal for chassis, engine bays etc

Jenolite rust remover is a thick pink liquid that you smear on rusty tools and leave for about quarter of an hour before wiping off. It takes a bit of effort to get the rust off, but this product does work. You only get a very small quantity of rust remover gell in a bottle of this size, so it is not very economical
