Astra Coupe 888


The Astra Coupe 888 born to celebrate the phenominal success of the 2001 British Touring Car season. Vauxhall together with Triple Eight Racing produce only 100 of these special Coupe's which transfer the passion, excitement and power of the track car to the UK's roads.


The 888 styling based upon the track car gives this car unqiue aerodynamic profile, race proven chassis modifications and a sports interior all adds up to the driving experience like no other. The short shift enabled gear throw, multi point sequencial direct injection, drive by wire throttle and an air cooled intercooler for the 2.0L Turbo charged 16v engine pushing out 192HP means you will be seeing 60MPH in under 7 seconds. The special 17" OZ lightweight wheels, lowered Eibach springs and dampers and Michelin Pilot Sports tyres transfer the brings the handling of race car to street. The high performance Ferodo brake pads, ABS and ESP gives you confidence to leave your braking to the very last moment.

For sale is my Astra 888, number 51 of the 100 ever made with only around 70 remaining on the roads today. 

These cars are now a rare part of Vauxhall history and heritage.  

She has been very well looked after through her 10 years, complete Vauxhall full service history.  Has never wanted for anything. 

I have a whole pile of receipts in a folder that contains nearly all MOT certificates.  It also includes an original Astra 888 sales brochure which are hard to come by.

The car is virtually standard, only a few modifications:

  • CDTI airboox.
  • Stainless Steel exhaust with original 888 engraved back box - makes a great sound! 
  • TX Autosport tophat and Baileys dumpvalve. 

There are a few bad bits as you would expect from any 10 year old car - I'm just trying to be honest! 

  • Few stone chips on the front bumper as with every car.
  • The drivers side seat bolster is a little torn - very common on these cars.



At the beginning of August, the car had brand new CV joints, driveshaft and discs and pads front and back. 

Since I have owned the car, it also had a full service from Vauxhall and a new radiator.
