Excellent Aprilia RSV Mille R Factory "Signature Edition" Colin Edwards in Black.
Totally standard unmolested example. (All original, apart from clear indicators)
V Twin Superbike. 998cc. 13,737 miles.
Never raced, dropped or damaged.
Taxed until end of August
Just under 12 months MOT
All the usual Ohlins suspension, steering dampeners, brembo brakes, OZ alloy wheels and carbon fibre parts etc. which make these machines extra special.
Some marks and small scratches here and there in accordance with the bikes age. However, there is really nothing to worry about and she cleans up a treat.
- Meta 357TV2 Alarm with original installation docs.
- Nearly new tyres (Top of the range "2CT" duel compund tyres - firm in the middle and sticky on the outside) cost hundreds! Done around 150 miles.
- Chain and sprockets are fine
- Brakes and brake fluid all round replaced about 100 miles ago at Foleys in Stoke.
- New (100 mile old) iridium spark plugs, correctly gapped.
- New (1 year old but only fitted today) Manbat Fibreglass yellow sealed high power battery to help crank the beast over! - She starts first go but there is big compression being a v twin.
- Pillion Seat and Single seat cowl
- R&G Frame crash guards
- 2 Keys, Red key Card
- Spare alarm fob
- Tool kit
- Set to "race" mode on the ECU
- Loads of history and MOT's etc.
- Serviced by me 200 miles ago using top quality fluids and K&N oil filter. I have had bikes for 17 years.
- Factory swing arm recall done as well as the clutch jet mod (makes the clutch lever less hard to pull by installing a later model part)
Starts, runs, rides and sounds superb. Never misseda beat. The Rotax engine is bullet proof. Really pulls your arms off when required but equally happy to sit in 5th or 6th and cruise along enjoying all the "torques" :-)
No expense spared maintaining this bike - always used the best quality oil, coolant etc.
Selling as we are having a garage conversion so i need the space and the cash.
Points to note:
There are some small marks here and there as already stated, One of the decals under the belly pan is coming away slightly but you ahve to lie down and look under the bike to see it! There is a tiny, tiny little dent in one of the cans near the pillion footpeg on the inside, about as big as a match head!! Cause when they were taken off for cleaning and leant agains the racking in the garage - doh! You wont even notice it, I am just trying to be honest.
The front brake fluid reservoir lid/cap is a little corroded - aren't they all?
Ready for the new owner, I installed a brand new Manbat battery today (the old 6 year old battery had given up wanting to turn her over unless she was completely fully charged) which was nearly £50.... Unfortunately this caused the electronic odometer to reset itself.
This is a common fault on Mille's and had already happened to this bike several years ago - documented by the dealer in the service book. In fact, when i was looking for this bike it seemed that every other Mille I looked at had problems with its odometer resetting!
Luckily at the bikes last MOT on the 13th of this month the odometers displayed milage was recorded, and added to its milage history on the MOT cert - see pics.
After the MOT I rode the bike 1 mile home and it has been in the garage since.
So, milage is actually worked out as: 5970 (then speedo accidentally reset on 28/06/06 by a dealer) plus 7767 (which it had on until I disconnected the old battery today, 27/07/2013) = 13,737 miles TOTAL
Currently, the speedo is reading 000000. I may do a couple of mile son it over the next week but I very much doubt it. Too risky now she is up for sale.
Finally: I think the battery has gone in the Meta alarm fob on the main key. It was working fine until the other day, then only sporadically, now not at all. I have never replaced the little battery in it so i guess that is whats up. The spare blue alarm fob works fine though, so the bike obviously starts runs fine.
NO TEST RIDES. I will happily start her up from cold and even ride up and down the road before you bid, so you can see her pull in all the gears but I wont let anyone on her unless they own her, I never have. Sorry, but its just too risky. If you win, you will be collecting her from my home, there is nothing wrong with the bike and I have nothing to hide, even though she is SOLD AS SEEN and there is no warranty. This bike is my pride and joy and I just cant risk someone dropping her as most bikes are dropped the first week someone owns them as they are not used to the balance etc.
You are bidding to buy, not haggle, so come and have a look at her if you are serious. CASH ON COLLECTION. There will be no negotiation at time of collection if you win. Just have to make all that clear, sorry to all genuine bidders and bikers for having to put this in writing.
So, Bid, Buy and ride her away and enjoy, you wont stop smiling for a week, you will not be disappointed at all. The reserve is just under the buy it now price. These bikes hold their value very well and will surely become a classic in years to come.
Thanks for looking, good look.
