This is a bright, modern, luxurious, lightweight 2005 Avondale Dart 545/4 4 berth caravan. The caravan is in excellent condition for its age having been very well looked after by its 1 Previous Owner. It also benefits from having a large end washroom, probably one of the best you will find in a caravan!
It is worth mentioning that the cleanliness of this caravan is worthy of particular note, it is a 1 OWNER caravan and I would guess the previous owner was fastidious - the carpet is like new! The rest of the caravan is in keeping with this impression. A credit to its former owner!
At the front of the caravan are 2 long straight seats with a 2 draw chest between them. The chest of drawers has a fold over table top on it which is excellent for quick meals and drinks. During the day this area is used as a seating or dining area by utilising the large free standing table included. At night these seats make up into a large double bed or are long enough to be used as 2 singles if preferred.
As you walk back through the caravan there is a very well fitted kitchen area on one side which includes a sink and drainer with fold over tops which provide valuable extra work space. Below this are is a drawer. Adjacent to this is a 4 burner gas hob with grill and oven below plus a pan storage cupboard at the bottom. Alongside this is a domestic sized fridge complete with a full width freezer compartment as opposed to the little 'corner' boxes most caravans have.
Opposite the kitchen is a dinette area with seating for two, this converts into a single bed and has a pull out bunk above. This is provided with sides to stop anyone falling out and is accessed from a ladder. At night this area can be divided from the rest of the caravan by a curtain, especially useful if you have young children going to bed early.
The washroom is located across the rear of the caravan, this being an impressively large washroom with the benefit of a separate shower cubicle which is fully enclosed! There is also a flushing cassette toilet which empties from the outside and has an indicator light on it to let you know when it needs emptying. The toilet is of the swivel type which provides more space in the bathroom. At the side of this is a vanity unit which houses the washbasin with storage below. Opposite is the separate fully enclosed shower. Next to this is a wardrobe with additional storage below. Being as roomy as it is, this room offers the benefit of giving you somewhere to change in the day without having to close all the curtains in the main area of the van.
In the bathroom across the back is a shelving unit giving additional storage. Further additional storage is provided by the numerous overhead lockers throughout the caravan as well as the underbed storage accessed from the top of each bed box.
The caravan also features a 'heki' roof light, this is effectively a large tilt / slide sunroof which provides a lot of extra light and can be opened for ventilation. This also benefits from being fitted with both a fly screen and a black out blind for night time.
The caravan has the benefit of an Alko AKS stabilizer, this is built into the tow hitch and helps to make the caravan more stable when towing. This type of stabilizer is a lot more efficient and cleaner than the old type 'leaf spring' stabilizer. This piece of equipment, along with the Radio / CD would originally have been an extra cost option on this caravan.
The caravan has lots of other features including hot and cold water, blown air heating, double glazing complete with black out blinds, fly screens and a security alarm. Also included are the original handbooks and appliance instructions. The caravan has been serviced regularly.
The caravan is in lovely condition having been very well cared for up to now and includes a number of additional features including a leisure battery, spare wheel, radio / CD player, water pump, 240V mains lead, gas regulator and steady winder. On the roof is an omni directional tv aerial.
The caravan has a body length of 18' 0 1/2'' and is 6' 11'' wide. The unladen weight (MRO) is 1070 KG. The laden weight (MTPLM) is 1300 KG.
On the subject of weight it is worth noting that Avondale caravans are unique in that the gas bottle is stored in a dedicated locker positioned over the axle as opposed to being kept in the front locker, thus resulting in the caravan having a low 'noseweight' which means that the choice of towcar is widened considerably. The same applies to the spare wheel which is stored in a locker built into the floor just behind the axle. All of these details improve stability and increase the choice of car that can tow this caravan.
The caravan is CRiS registered and the registration document is present and will be passed on to the next owner. This shows the date of first registration as being the 27/06/2006.
This caravan at £5295 represents great value for money taking into account its age and condition.
The caravan has been already been inspected by an NCC approved workshop prior to sale and as such, if you are travelling from afar it would be possible to come and view the caravan and take it away at the same time, thereby saving two journeys and enabling you to have a holiday in Devon at the same time! Just load your personal effects and go straight off on holiday!! Obviously, this would be subject to cleared funds prior to collection.
Overall the caravan is in very good condition for the year apart from the odd small mark or dent that you would expect on a caravan of this age.
