I am selling my gorgeous 2006/ 06 Suzuki GSX1400 K5, in the best colour; Blue/White. Before you read any further, I am not a dealer who knows nothing about the history of the bike being sold. The bike is registered in my name and address.
The bike has had only one previous owner. It was bought brand new on 18th April 2006. It was used for a few weeks in the dry only and then the owner suffered a back injury at work and was told he would not be able to ride it again for some time. Not wanting to give up the bike, he stored it in a heated garage. After complications with his injury, he finally sold the bike to the local Suzuki main dealer in July 2009, at just over 3 years old with only 460 miles on the clock.
The bike was given a thorough major service by the Suzuki main Dealer, new battery fitted and was bought by me on 5th August 2009. Since then it has only been used in the dry and over the winter was stored in my heated garage.
Due to work commitments (extensive overseas trips), I don’t
get the chance to ride it very often, so have decided to sell it to someone who
will get to enjoy this amazing machine. It wasn’t used at all last summer due
to an extensive work assignment in the US. In the 3 years I have owned the GSX,
I’ve only managed to ride it 3,860 miles. I am due to return to the US in the next few weeks
The bike is 100% factory original, apart from a Beowulf cooler cover I fitted just after purchase to protect the cooler. It has been Alpha Dot marked. It is absolutely pristine and looks like it has never been ridden. After each ride it was washed, waxed and polished and the chain is re-waxed. The engine covers are unmarked and there is minimal pitting on the front forks (which cannot be avoided if you ride it – see photos). You will not find a better condition GSX anywhere and due to production ending in 2007, ones in this condition are getting rare. I have both keys and the spare still has the protective covering on it and has never been used.
Previous MOT’s were:
19th April 2009 – 408 miles
19th March 2010 – 1876 miles
21st March 2011 – 3086 miles
22nd March 2012 – 3985 miles
The bike is MOT’d until April 18th 2013 and Taxed
until 31st March 2013, so it’s all ready to go. (I took the photos
before putting the new disk in).
It has covered only 4,316 dry miles from new (and only 331 miles since its MOT on 22nd March).
The bike has a full service history, even being serviced when I was overseas in the US.
Services carried out:
15th July 2009 – 460 miles (service after storage)
6th August 2010 – 2527 miles
7th October 2011 – 3852 miles (incl fork oil & brake fluid changed)
The bike isn’t due for service again until much later this year. It has only covered 464 miles since its last service in October 2011.
I have the original owner’s folder, owner’s manual, stamped service history, V5, Alphadot registration, previous & current MOTs and keys.
This bike is truly exceptional. It has the smoothest engine and you just ride it on the never-ending wave of torque. It is amazingly economical for its size, with an excellent tank range.
Now the boring bit I’m afraid. Only bid if you intend to buy. I will only allow a test ride after purchase and have been paid the full balance in cash. Any bidder with feedback less than 10, please contact me first. I expect a deposit of £250 by cash/ bankers draft/ paypal (plus fees) within 3 days (non-refundable) and full payment and collection within 7 days of auction end. (I will accept paypal, in case you decide to use your credit card, but you will need to cover their fees in cash after payment is made). If the level of bids is low, then I intend to advertise in biketrader a few days before auction end. It may therefore sell elsewhere, so get in early! If the bike reaches the reserve then it will sell here.
I recommend that you arrange to view the bike before bidding, so that you are 100% happy with it. The reserve price is set at the price GSX’s seem to be selling for on ebay, although this one is exceptional.
Before you ask, I will not end the auction early, offer a buy-it-now or disclose the reserve price. If it does not reach reserve/ sell, I will put the bike into storage as ones as good as this will only get rarer.
If you have any more questions, drop me a line. No tyre-kickers or timewasters please.
Happy bidding….This Bike is really worth it!
