This is the 2012 Charles Dickens UK £2 BU Presentation Pack from the Royal Mint.

Anyone interested in the life and works of the great literary genius Charles Dickens will be thrilled with this coin and the information-packed presentation folder.

The £2 coin marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens and boasts a remarkable and inventive reverse design by Matthew Dent. A profile outline, immediately recognisable as Dickens has been painstakingly created from the titles of Dickens’ famous works – from his early writings, Sketches by Boz, to his final and unfinished novel the Mystery of Edwin Drood. Taken from Dickens’ own favourite story, David Copperfield, the words chosen for the edge inscription are those of the lovable and always hopeful Mr Micawber: SOMETHING WILL TURN UP. The obverse features the familiar portrait of The Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.

One of Britain’s best-loved authors, Charles Dickens is celebrated on the 2012 £2 coin. Dickens was born on 7 February 1812 and spent an idyllic childhood, first in his birthplace of Portsmouth and later in Chatham, Kent. The family then moved to London where, in due course, his father was incarcerated for debt and the 12-year-old Dickens put to work in a blacking factory. Deeply interested in social reform he embarked on a career as a journalist at the True Sun radical newspaper and as ‘Boz’ wrote short stories for the Morning Chronicle. His experiences along with his rich imagination,exhilarating humour and powerful social sensibilities were used to create enthralling stories with wonderfully extravagant characters in which life in Victorian London, at once vibrant and pitiless, was vividly exposed. His novels were tremendously popular during his lifetime and are still adored by readers all over the world.

Following cleared payment if I have dispatched the item in the time I have stated in the listing please don't penalise me if you item doesn't arrive promptly due a poor postal service. For International buyers shipping to Europe will be by Airmail Small Packets, International Signed for Airmail (some countries by Airsure) depending on the item & value. International buyers will only be allowed to buy if Paypal confirm your payment is eligible for seller protection, you have good current feedback & can make payment by Paypal or by Bank Transfer. For items over £46 if you don't have good current feedback your order may be refunded & declined. This is due to the high amount of Paypal non receipt claims from fraudulent buyers.

For Buy It Now listings returns will be accepted if the item is wrongly described if notified within 7 days of receipt and returned within a maximum of 7 days after that. If the error is only a minor one then a decision will be made on a case by case basis. I shall always try to come to an amicable solution with the buyer. Return postage will be paid by me if the postage method is agreed before the return.

Returns will also be accepted under the DSR's if you change your mind or find the item unsuitable as long as I am notified by eBay message or by following eBay's return procedure within 7 days from the date of delivery. As eBay is a 24/7 selling environment I do work 7 days & therefore count Saturday & Sunday both as working days towards the 7 day "cooling off period". If the return is due to a change of mind, product isn't suitable, colour issue & has been correctly described in the listing then the return cost is the buyer's responsibility and I shall advise you to return it by Recorded Delivery and/or with a "Proof of Postage". Royal Mail will cover 1st Class returns up to £46 in value & 2nd Class up to £36 in value. If the item/s value is over £46 it is best to return it/them by Standard Parcels with extra insurance or by "Special Delivery", this will be at the customer’s discretion. On return items will be inspected to ensure that it is the same item that was sent and that the item's condition is the same as when sent. The item, all packaging and any accessories must be returned unused and in a condition similar to as it was sent to you. If the return is under the DSR's then a standard 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund (20% in respect of any Royal Mint Coins). This will rise to a maximum 20% restocking fee if the item isn't returned in the condition it was sent or small items/packaging aren't present. If the item is in a significantly different condition to what was sent then no return will be accepted and I will return the item to the buyer at their cost should you so wish. In respect of mobile phones & other electronic goods on return IMEI's or serial numbers will be checked against our register to ensure the one returned is the one we sent out. This is to prevent fraudulent returns.

Please be aware if you do not have good current feedback, confirmed eBay and Paypal addresses which match or your payment is in any way suspect we reserve the right to not conclude the transaction.

Any pricing errors will generally NOT be honoured but this will be at our discretion. If an error is spotted prior to dispatch you will be contacted with the correct price & given the opportunity to either conclude the transaction at the correct price or back out.
