Offered with NO RESERVE and starting at our usual low price is this superb retro piece of Poole pottery in the SIENNA design. It is what is described in my book as a 'shallow dish' (not as flat as a plate) - shape 588 in the Art Nouveau style, designed by Tony Morris and Jacqueline Leonard in 1978.
This particular piece has the painter's mark on it for DONNA BROGAN who worked for Poole from 1977-1979, so this piece can be dated almost exactly to either 1978 (the year this design was introduced) or 1979 (the year she left Poole).
One picture shows this with a large grapefruit, apple and plums to give you an idea of size, but the FRUIT IS NOT INCLUDED!
SIZE - Pictures are MAGNIFIED to show detail, so please judge size by measurements It measures approximately 9 1/2 inches in diameter (24cms).
CONDITION IS EXCELLENT with NO DAMAGE and NO REPAIRS, RESTORATION, WEAR OR CRAZING. From manufacture is a little firing flaw on the BACK of the plate (only mentioned for total accuracy as always and would not be declared by most - see picture).
MAKER'S MARK It bears a faint Poole mark as pictured and the decorator's mark for DONNA BROGAN who worked for Poole from 1977-79.
